What is an OoO?
Out of Order Improvisational Comedy (OoO) was first organized by Kym Frank as a fundraising effort for renovations at a community theater in Morris County, NJ. The first show was such a success that the group stayed together and began scheduling performances across New Jersey.
What is Improv Comedy?
Improvisational Comedy is a form of theater where the actors make up their performances on the spot based on suggestions supplied by the audience. OoO specializes in short form improvisational comedy, meaning that their shows consist of several small scenes or games much like the format of the television show, "Whose Line is it Anyway?"
So What is the Point?
Because Out of Order performances are completely spontaneous, they use no costumes, props or set pieces. This allows OoO to perform virtually anywhere and for audiences large and small. Out of Order shows are fairly cheap to mount due to the lack of preparation and materials required and are excellent for fundraisers. Oh...and the shows are laugh-out-loud funny, always changing, and audience-interactive.
Wow...sounds great.
I'd like to book Out of Order for a show, fundraiser, or a workshop!
